Alien Life
From an outsider's place, more comes into view.
Living abroad as an outsider for long enough puts you somewhere that is neither fully outside nor fully local. From there you see both what only closeness shows and what only distance shows, and you fall into the habit of thinking harder about what that means. This is how my way of looking at a piece took shape: drawing the story without settling too quickly on people or places.
I shoot in both Bangkok and Seoul.
Storyteller
From planning to the edit, one person does all of it.
I am a full-stack filmmaker who handles a production end to end. Because the aim is to run every stage alone, the feasibility of the shoot and the structure of the edit are already part of the calculation while the plan is being written. Knowing what a location can actually give keeps the plan from going hollow, and knowing what the edit will need keeps me from missing that shot on the day.

The Waiting
The real story is never in
the tidied places.
I have made brand films and corporate documentaries, wedding films and short fiction, without minding the line between them. Not to say that I can handle many genres, but because what I am after each time is the same whatever the genre. Whatever the brief, the first thing I do is find where the real story sits, and it is rarely in the places already tidied up like a company history or a product spec. More often it is in an offhand remark from someone who has done the work for years, or in a habit worn into the body.
I wait for the line that is not in the script.
