I wanted to go outside
where it was green
and breathe the air

A short made when Bangkok was close to shut down. Its material is one wish everybody held at the time and nobody could act on. Instead of a large event, that wish is the whole of the story.

So the film walks rather than explains. Up from the sofa, picking up a bag and a mask, through the corridor and the stairs, across the river and out to a road thick with green. It follows that route exactly.

There is one character and I played him. When the same person stands behind the camera and in front of it, the whole route gets drawn in advance. What was decided for this film was not a story but a path to walk.

A man on a sofa in a dark room, looking at his phone. A stuffed monkey sits beside him
Inside the room
A bag and a white mask on the table
The bag and the mask
Stepping out along a narrow white corridor, raising a hand to look at it
The white corridor
A walking figure reflected upside down in a puddle on the floor
Footsteps in a puddle
Water parting into a wake behind a boat
The boat across the river
Walking into a narrow path through a green tunnel of dense nipa palm
The green tunnel
Looking up at the sky through the trees, still wearing the mask
The sky, looked up at

Where the journey is headed is a local market that used to be full of people. Those last steps are in the film itself.
