An unexpected incident leads them to misunderstand and hurt one another, and they part without being able to say even, "I'm sorry." The five days begin when Pingpha decides to make the Seoul trip they had planned together, alone.
The film takes the night of two cities for its stage, Bangkok and Seoul, so it was shot in both countries. The way a set runs is different in each place, and holding those two ways together became part of the work itself. The script was written jointly. There were moments a Korean audience and a Thai audience would read differently, so rather than pushing through with one side's instinct, we built the distance between the two cultures into the lines.
That it was co-directed by two people who each carry a whole production alone also decided the character of this film. Unlike a team that divides the roles between its members, both of us came in understanding every stage, so wherever a judgment was needed there was nowhere to defer it to.

We held a screening in Bangkok for students of the Korean department at Srinakharinwirot University. After it ended we talked with the audience from the stage.
I wanted to see how a Thai story, made by a Korean filmmaker who does not know everything about Thai culture, would reach a Thai audience. I wanted it to be a place where something made by a Korean who loves Thailand was put in front of people whose interest in Korea runs deep.
